PitchBot - Smart Chromatic Tuner App Reviews

I am surprised by the amount of good reviews and strong statements regarding the quality of this ap. While tuning my acoustic guitar, the meter jumps around, never settling down long enough for me to be sure if I have any given string tuned. I have explored the menu and tried many different orientations but still cannot get it to work right. I am not a newbie.. I normally use a Korg CA-30, a wonderful tuner. Perhaps Im used to its accuracy. Maybe its the iphones mic causing the problem? Dunno- I wish Id saved my two bucks and bought a root beer instead:-/

Simply doesnt work that well with acoustic guitar, even in perfectly quite room, with mic right by soundhole, etc... Not worth any $.

This is exactly what i needed. I had been using my macbook pro and garage band to tune my uke :) This app is a much better solution.

Who knows. Needle does in fact jump around. Cant tell if my cello is in tune with the app. Other tuning apps do not have this issue. This is one to avoid. iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.

While tuning my acoustic the needle HOPS around like a miller lite. The app tunes it alright,but thats just to the best of my judgement,its kinda sloppy.

I havent picked up my guitar in over a year so maybe my ear isnt the best but this app worked for me. I couldnt find my crappy tuner and then I said... Theres probably an app for that. $1.99 vs. Going to sam ash tomorrow and spending $40. Its truly magical (with or without unicorn tears)

This is a great app to keep handy if you play the guitar. It covers very well when you dont have access to a tuner.

makes the strings to tight

This is the second "worse" tuner ive ever used. Does "not" pickup the strings correctly & gives you crazy in accurate readings. Do "not" buy this its horrible.

Ive tested many tuners and this is the one I use daily during practice sessions. Fast accurate and the amplitude meter helped me track down a wolf tone on my fiddle.

DO NOT GET THIS APP. ITS TERRIBLE, DO NOT GET IT.

This app reminds me of those Quicktune tuners of the 90s. They worked kinda, they were cheap and sometimes they would tune guitar. I couldnt even use it. Would not tune good enough for me to play. So save your money and buy Guitar Toolkit. Its the best tuner around. I dont get how this app has gotten four stars overall. Maybe it works a lot better on iPhone 4. I have a 3GS.

I dont play guitar; however, I do engineer sessions via pro tools and this application works wonders in regards to assisting you in finding the correct key for pitch correction specifically Autotune. I recommend this application, and deem its price to be well worth the value.

there is this WEIRD glitch in which, after you exit the app, and then try to go back into to it... the phone completely freezes up. PLEASE FIX!!!

Downloaded it for Ipod touch 4th gen, for some reason, it wouldnt turn on microphone at all, tried external mic, same thing. No customer support either...wasted 2 bucks

You know what they say: You can tune a guitar, but you cant tuna fish. I dont know if Pitchbot can tune a guitar, but it sure cant tune a mandolin. Sure, the needle is somewhere in the right ballpark, but the way it jumps around makes this so-called tuner utterly worthless. Ill stick to my dedicated tuner, which actually works. Hopefully I will find a tuning app that does its job, but I am definitely going to pitch this bot.

You cant tune it like accoustic u have to plug in ur guitar and turn up the volume and then set ur tuning it wrks great I get a very nice sound every time
